  Fire in the Belly:
Standing Pregnant Between Hope and Fear

Black Rock City August 2006: Using the flat expanse of desert as a back drop, a group of Bay Area artists joined Glimmer and Sunshine in erecting a temple dedicated to parents who have lost children during gestation or shortly after delivery. Fire in the Belly was inspired by Glimmer’s loss of a child in 2000. With the support of the community, Fire in the Belly was brought to the playa and set up for visitors in interact with by writing on the temples and leaving mementos. The 3 structures were burned the last night of the event. Visit: www.fireinbelly.comfor more information.

Playatech Ships Flat
  Playatech
Playatech is Black Rock City’s leading home furnishings brand, and a massively scalable art project that spawns art projects to fund more art projects. Playatech is an imaginary dot com company with a real business model and real products you will love, and while we offer a money-back guarantee, we don’t actually sell anything because then this wouldn’t be art. Pagoda of Infinite Reflection
Black Rock City August 2004: Upon the stark white expanse of compacted dust known as Black Rock Desert, a small group of south bay artists gathered friends, family and volunteers to erect a massive sculpture called the <Pagoda of Infinite Reflection> http://wizzard.com/bm2004/. The Pagoda was the direct result of a call put out to the South Bay Burners community by veteran artist Bob Mazewski (known as 'Wizzard" in the burning man community) to gather local burners and collectively produce a large art piece that would be burned mid-week. Wizzard's vision was to empower the next generation of burners by showing regular people that they could indeed 'find their inner artist' and contribute to the beauty of Black Rock City by creating art pieces for the populous to enjoy.
